The museum is thankful to be a facility within the Champaign County Forest Preserve District, a collection of 7 forest preserves, 2 educational facilities, a golf course, a multipurpose rail trail, and much more working to protect Champaign County’s natural and cultural resources and inspire people to care for, enjoy, and explore their natural world.

Looking for Lincoln

Looking for Lincoln works in partnership with Lincoln Home National Historic Site to tell the story of Lincoln's almost 30 years in Illinois in communities where Lincoln worked, traveled, and lived. The museum is proud to be a site within the Abraham Lincoln National Heritage Area and a contributing member site to Looking for Lincoln.

Lincoln Legacy Committee

The Lincoln Legacy Committee is a collaborative committee of the Champaign County Forest Preserve and the Champaign County Board formed for the purpose of promoting the Bicentennial Celebration of Abraham Lincoln's birth through the creation of exhibits at the Champaign County Courthouse and the Museum of the Grand Prairie. The committee continues to work to promote and interpret the life and times of Abraham Lincoln in Champaign County.
